I had always meant to create a blog. It was, and is, what writers do in this "digital" age. It took awhile, but I found the motivation to point, click, and begin my path to blogging paradise.
It wasn't that easy to start filling the world with my musings, maxims, and pithy poetics- a real blogger needs a title worthy of saturating Internet searches, telling their friends and family, and sealing their written credibility for later use. I don't do well under such oppressive pressure, so I went the route of comfort: a clever pun on a pro-Communist slogan. Brilliance! Unfortunately, the name had already been concocted and used for another blog- a blog focusing on Young Adult fiction and increasing literacy in pre-teens....it shocked me too. I spent too much time and energy trying to find the connections between the kitsch of Communism and the Twilight loving crowd. If someone out there can see it- PLEASE, fill me in!
So, I didn't get my beloved phrase. And I couldn't come up with anything else as clever. My blogging world was dissolving before it ever began. I would never be able to find another outlet for carefree and meandering writing. I let out many heavy sighs at this epiphany- until I realized, it didn't need that much obsessing. I just needed to pick SOMETHING. It shouldn't be that serious- I can save the weighty, and Red, for my novel in progress. I am pretty sure that won't have any connection to the world of YA fiction- I hope.
